Terms of Service

Effective April 17, 2026 — applies to all Whiteboard Works extensions and web apps

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the browser extensions, web applications, and related services (the "Services") operated by Whiteboard Works ("we", "us", "our"). This includes FRED, Vim What, Lexis Arcana, Tab Watch, Play Faster, Clear Wisdom, and any other products we publish.

By installing or using any of our products, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Description of Services

Whiteboard Works builds browser extensions and web applications designed to be small, focused, and useful. Each product has its own functionality described on its product page. Our tools are provided as aids — they do not replace professional judgment or official sources.

2. No guarantees

Our products are assistive tools. While we strive for accuracy and reliability:

  • Products that use AI (such as FRED) depend on third-party services and may produce incorrect results.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
  • You should always exercise your own judgment and consult official sources when in doubt.

3. Accounts and subscriptions

Free products. Most of our extensions are completely free and require no account or payment.

Paid subscriptions. Some products (such as FRED Premium) offer paid tiers with additional features. Subscriptions are billed through LemonSqueezy, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. See our Refund Policy for details.

4. How your content is processed

When you use a product that analyzes content (such as FRED analyzing emails or URLs):

  • The content may be sent to third-party AI services for processing. This is necessary for the feature to function.
  • We do not store, log, or retain the content you analyze.
  • See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use our products to facilitate fraud, phishing, harassment, or any illegal activity.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse services, or reverse-engineer our products.
  • Share, resell, or distribute license keys or paid access to others.
  • Use our products in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

6. Intellectual property

Some of our products are open source and licensed under their respective licenses (noted in each repository). Open source licenses apply to the code itself. These Terms govern your use of the hosted services, premium features, and related infrastructure.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Whiteboard Works shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, financial loss, or damages resulting from reliance on our products.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
